November 1, 2017 – Call for Proposals

Interested teams should contact Coulter Program Management early to confirm eligibility and explore market potential for the project.

February 2, 2018 – Applications Due

Full applications consist of a 6-page proposal and budget spreadsheet. Applications will be triaged according to eligibility and commercial exit potential, and up to 12 projects will be invited to pitch at the Triage Pitch Meeting. Currently funded teams for the 2017-2018 cycle are eligible to apply for follow-on funding.

Late February/Early March 2018 – Oversight Committee Operating Review Meeting

Currently funded teams for the 2017-2018 funding cycle will present an update on their project to the Coulter Oversight Committee.

Late February/Early March 2018 – Triage Pitch Meeting

Teams pitching for funding will prepare a brief, 5-minute PowerPoint presentation to pitch their ideas to the Coulter Oversight Committee, which consists of industry professionals, technology transfer specialists, investors, and academics. Up to 8 teams will be selected based on the pitches to participate in an 8-week commercialization planning program, C3i (Coulter College Commercializing Innovation).

March – May 2018 – C3i (Coulter College Commercializing Innovation) Program

C3i is a commercial due diligence and commercialization planning program that provides mentorship from industry and venture capitalist mentors; primary market research, regulatory, and competitive market landscape assessments; and reimbursement and intellectual property assessments as needed. Mid May, 2018 – Project Selection Meeting

Teams present a 15-minute pitch presentation to the Oversight Committee for a funding decision.

June 2018 – Project Preparation

Teams selected for funding work with Coulter Program Management to finalize project milestones and budgets.

July 1, 2018 – Funding Begins

Funding runs for 1 year from July 1, 2018 – June 30, 2019. Teams regularly meet with Coulter Program Management and prepare quarterly progress reports on milestones. Teams are expected to present updates to the Oversight Committee twice per funding cycle in October and March.

October 2018 – Oversight Committee Operating Review Meeting

Currently funded teams for the 2018-2019 funding cycle will present an update on their project to the Coulter Oversight Committee.
